Wye Oak‘s third album, the 10-song Civilian, is out March 8 via Merge. It’s the follow-up to 2009’s The Knot and the first LP the Baltimore duo didn’t self-record and mix. Instead, Jenn Wasner and Andy Stack brought in engineer John Congleton (St. Vincent, Shearwater), who Stack credits for pushing Wye Oak “into some exciting and sometimes scary new territory.” The duo kicks off a full-on North American tour March 12 in Washington, D.C., but will be doing a handful of dates with the Decemberists in the next two weeks.
