Film At 11: Apex Manor

Apex Manor was formed by Ross Flournoy after his band the Broken West broke up. Initially, Flournoy started the project as a chance to enter an online songwriting contest sponsored by NPR’s Monitor Mix, wherein musicians were given one weekend to write, record and submit a song. Flournoy’s entry was “Under The Gun,” which you can download here. Inspired, Flournoy began writing more songs, some with long-time collaborator Adam Vine, and decided to form Apex Manor with Vine, Brian Whelan (Broken West) and Andy Creighton. The band’s debut, The Year Of Magical Drinking (Merge), is out now. Watch the video for album track “My My Mind,” which was directed by Vine’s cousin, Jonathan Singer-Vine, and catch Apex Manor on tour in March.
