MAGNET has been championing My Morning Jacket since we first heard a demo tape of songs that wound up on the band’s debut album a dozen years ago, so we’re so happy that Jim James and the boys are now Rock Stars. (Yes, capital “R” and “S.”) On May 31, ATO is issuing MMJ’s sixth studio LP, Circuital, and that night, acclaimed director Todd Haynes (I’m Not There, Mildred Pierce) is filming the band’s show at Louisville’s Palace Theater. The performance will air live on MMJ’s VEVO page at 9 p.m. EDT. The hometown gig kicks off a massive tour that includes new dates with Neko Case opening. A dollar from each ticket sold on the trek is going to a local charity, so, really, you have no excuse not to go see them.
