MP3 At 3PM: Duncan Sheik

They say if you remember the ’80s that you really weren’t there. (No wait, that was Woodstock. Sorry.) Anyway, Duncan Sheik certainly recalls the ’80s. His new record, Covers 80s (out June 7 via Sneaky/MRI), is just what it sounds like. On it, the Grammy and Tony winner takes on 12 songs from the decade, including “William It Was Really Nothing” (Smiths), “Kyoto Song” (Cure), “So Alive” (Love & Rockets) and “The Ghost In You” (Psychedelic Furs). Download Sheik’s cover of Depeche Mode’s “Stripped” below, and catch him on tour starting Wednesday in NYC.
