Luke Roberts, former child cohort to Jim Varney, just released “Unspotted Clothes” off his upcoming album Big Bells And Dime Songs (Thrill Jockey). Listening to Roberts, be prepared for contemplative, slow–moving folk that’s depressing but not necessarily dark. Big Bells is out November 8, though Roberts plans to forsake a proper tour in place of a road trip culminating in a period of seclusion in Montana, perhaps gigging more later this year.
