Pop music, like so many cans of Pringles, can never seem to stop. Paul Brill’s new single, “The Royal Oui,” is wonderfully reminiscent of some of the better aspects of pop/rock; it opens with a gripping hook and races through its run time at breakneck speeds. Brill sings with the nasal quality and velocity of a late-’90s rocker, albeit with less depressing, though still poetic, lyrics. Breezy (Scarlet Shame) drops January 17.
