Perhaps representing the dreamier side of Florence + The Machine, Memoryhouse touches a misty, poppy nerve with new single “The Kids Were Wrong,” off upcoming album, The Slideshow Effect (Sub Pop). While it doesn’t necessarily push any grand boundaries, “The Kids Were Wrong” falls happily into the dreamy nook Memoryhouse aims for, particularly with the classic contrast between a somewhat joyous tune and melancholic lyrics. That being said, perhaps Memoryhouse isn’t anything special yet, but the band is trying, and this first LP is a good one. Download “The Kids Were Wrong” below.
