A music critic once told me that he wished there were more decent cover albums out there. It seems he just got his wish, as Toronto rock quartet the Darcys has released a free(!) full-album reworking Steely Dan’s Aja (via Arts & Crafts). Last year, without a label and needing something to do, the Darcys sat down to re-record the album in their own way. Below, listen to their version of “Josie,” which removes all the bounce of the original and turns up the echo for a more haunting experience.
