Old 97’s frontman Rhett Miller is getting ready to release his sixth solo album. Titled The Dreamer (Maximum Sunshine), Miller’s latest blends his alt-country roots with a newfound singer/songwriter style. Lead single “Out Of Love” really exemplifies this combination of sounds. At first listen, the song seems fairly rock-heavy, but his Americana tones are there, just beneath the wave of each chorus. Miller’s Texas twang is subtle, adding depth to his lyricism.
