They came with torches. At least, that’s what Alleska Palladino and Devon Church did in the music video for “Passage,” off Exitmusic‘s latest album by the same name (on Secretly Canadian). The clip, directed by William Joines, takes a slow, cinematic look at escapism and destruction, examining them frame by frame and in arresting detail. In the beginning, most takes are obscured by some gauzy texture in the foreground, but as the song gains momentum, so does the editing. Palladino shines (sometimes literally) with her emphatic acting skills and exaggeratedly raspy voice. Watch the video below.
