A decade and a half later finds Nick Krill (vocals/guitar), Thomas Hughes (bass/vocals), Jeffrey Hobson (drums), Sam Hughes (keyboards), Joey Hobson (guitar) perfecting pop sounds on the recent full-length, Shy Pursuit, in their newly built recording studio, scoring films, starting a record label and searching for the perfect cup of coffee. Thomas Hughes: When we were in Portugal, I picked up this handy little device. It is an owl whose feathers can accurately predict the weather. If they’re blue, then you’re in store for a sunny day. If they’re pink, then watch out, ’cause storms are a-brewin! However, if the owl turns a disgusting shade of purpley grey, then you can expect it to be overcast. Call me a Luddite, but I don’t need the Weather Channel or the internet to tell me what the weather is going to be like for the day. I can just take a quick look at this wise bird, and he’ll tell me all I need to know with that piercing stare of his. The Portuguese have been using this method for years, and if it works for them, it works for me!
