We all need to escape the walls of the office from time to time. Unfortunately, opportunities often prove limited, and we’re left looking out a window at more office buildings or staring at some sickly idyllic, preloaded screensaver. It’s poor compensation. The idea of a music video is to transport you to someplace. That’s what makes Bowerbirds’ music video for “Overcome With Light,” off The Clearing (Dead Oceans), so wonderful. It’s unembellished and elegant, a fusion of a plain aesthetic with nature that resonates with the band’s simple acoustic sound. Three minutes and 13 seconds may not seem long when you’re dying to get out, but something beautiful is refreshing regardless. Watch it below.
