Chicago’s California Wives are the latest buzz band riding the ’80s nostalgia wave. Like the Pains Of Being Pure At Heart before them, the Wives deliver fun, twee-ish rock. “Purple” and “Marianne,” off Art History (out September via Vagrant), are both great examples of why this band deserves some attention.
