Forgive the members of blues-rock duo Little Hurricane if they describe the past year as a whirlwind. Since their first practice in drummer Celeste “C.C.” Spina’s apartment in late 2009, they’ve gone from playing for crowds they could add up on one hand to earning the title of San Diego’s best new band and landing coveted spots at South By Southwest, Austin City Limits and Lollapalooza. Despite the fuss they’ve kicked up with their live shows and debut album, Homewrecker (Unknown Breakthrough), success hasn’t translated into overconfidence. Spina: Quite possibly the cutest breed of dog known to man, the black pug is our favorite dog to spot on the road. Tone has a particularly adorable one named Jedi, but due to our touring schedule, his parents have taken temporary custody. I don’t have a dog, but if I did it would have to be a black pug as well!
