From The Desk Of Little Hurricane’s Celeste “C.C.” Spina: Pho

Forgive the members of blues-rock duo Little Hurricane if they describe the past year as a whirlwind. Since their first practice in drummer Celeste “C.C.” Spina’s apartment in late 2009, they’ve gone from playing for crowds they could add up on one hand to earning the title of San Diego’s best new band and landing coveted spots at South By Southwest, Austin City Limits and Lollapalooza. Despite the fuss they’ve kicked up with their live shows and debut album, Homewrecker (Unknown Breakthrough), success hasn’t translated into overconfidence. Spina will be guest editing magnetmagazine.com all week. Read our new Little Hurricane feature.

Pho is a Vietnamesse soup—one of our favorite things to eat on the road. A great way to warm up on a cold day or to kick a cold, especially if you add extra Sriracha. I love lime, basil, green onion and sprouts in mine as well. I also usually order a bánh mì sandwich and a Thai iced tea as well, just because I love to stuff my face!
