From The Desk Of Little Hurricane’s Celeste “C.C.” Spina: Schwinn Stingray

Forgive the members of blues-rock duo Little Hurricane if they describe the past year as a whirlwind. Since their first practice in drummer Celeste “C.C.” Spina’s apartment in late 2009, they’ve gone from playing for crowds they could add up on one hand to earning the title of San Diego’s best new band and landing coveted spots at South By Southwest, Austin City Limits and Lollapalooza. Despite the fuss they’ve kicked up with their live shows and debut album, Homewrecker (Unknown Breakthrough), success hasn’t translated into overconfidence. Spina will be guest editing magnetmagazine.com all week. Read our new Little Hurricane feature.

Spina: My favorite ride in San Diego is a purple Schwinn Stingray. The banana seat and huge handlebars make it a real looker. We have brought her on the road with us before, and when I get a chance I sneak away to cruise around and explore new lands.
