Best Of 2012, Guest Editors: Little Hurricane’s Celeste “C.C.” Spina On Craigslist

As 2012 has come to an end, we are taking a look back at some of our favorite posts of the year by our guest editors.

Forgive the members of blues-rock duo Little Hurricane if they describe the past year as a whirlwind. Since their first practice in drummer Celeste “C.C.” Spina’s apartment in late 2009, they’ve gone from playing for crowds they could add up on one hand to earning the title of San Diego’s best new band and landing coveted spots at South By Southwest, Austin City Limits and Lollapalooza. Despite the fuss they’ve kicked up with their live shows and debut album, Homewrecker (Unknown Breakthrough), success hasn’t translated into overconfidence. Spina will be guest editing magnetmagazine.com all week. Read our new Little Hurricane feature.

Spina: We love Craigslist for so many reasons! First and foremost, our band formed on Craigslist after I posted an ad looking for a guitar player. I found my favorite gold drum kit on Craigslist. When we went on our first tour, I sold my car there as well. It’s just an awesome and free website, and you can really find some great things there. Of course, there are the horror stories as well, so use caution and common sense and try not to get murdered!
