After three years, Superchunk is back in the power-pop game with I Hate Music (Merge). “Me & You & Jackie Mittoo” is somewhat of a title track, featuring the choice line “I hate music.” But as the lyrical context and new video showcase, the lyric isn’t all that serious. It’s essentially anthem for record-heads and an homage to life-changing records. Superchunk’s friends and family held up their favorite records, from Kimono My House to the Footloose soundtrack, for this video collage. Watch below.
