of Montreal has eschewed disco on its latest release, Lousy With Sylvianbriar (Polyvinyl), returning to its lo-fi pop roots. Recorded in San Francisco in three weeks, the LP is a refreshing return to form. But just because because the new music drops the disco, by and large, doesn’t mean Kevin Barnes still doesn’t like to get naked and showcase his hypersexuality.
