skidding across clam shells
in the back of the shucking yard mill.
Come on Pink Pearl
get up off the couch.
No one wants to see you reclining anymore
asking favors with outstretched hands
stroking your green ring finger.
At least not today.
Why don’t you lie down
at the feet of the monster.
