From The Desk Of Tigers Jaw: Current Favorite Brands (Catbird, Glossier, goodDYEyoung)

Spin, Tigers Jaw‘s latest album, is a glowing set of pop/rock tunes that denotes a shift in the band’s timeline. As the first release for producer Will Yip’s Atlantic Records imprint Black Cement, Spin is Tigers Jaw at its most composed and polished. But Brianna Collins and Ben Walsh still build upon their penchant for dizzying, unexpected hooks and bare, honest songwriting. Tigers Jaw will be guest editing all week. Read our Q&A with them.

Collins: If I’m going to spend money on myself, I want to support businesses that I believe in—those built from the ground up by people who have worked hard to get where they are while also providing quality products.

I never thought I would consider myself a jewelry person, but after receiving one gift from Catbird, I was hooked. The Catbird aesthetic is so clean and beautiful, and the jewelry is incredibly affordable for the quality of materials (all of which are ethically sourced) and the fact that all of the Catbird jewelry is hand crafted in Brooklyn. Some of my favorite pieces of Catbird jewelry are the Sweet Nothing Choker, Heart Ring and Classic Hammered Ring.

As someone who struggles with sensitive skin, I could not rave more about the positive impact Glossier has had on my skincare routine. The brand that claims “Skin Is In” isn’t kidding. Each product is crafted to emphasize the best that your own skin has to offer. I swear by the Milky Jelly Cleanser as both a facewash and makeup remover, as well as the Invisible Shield sunscreen that goes on clear and doesn’t feel heavy or clog my pores.

Much like Hayley Williams, the CEO of goodDYEyoung, I frequently like to change my hair color. Doing so allows me to be creative and express myself, but it’s important to make sure that this creative outlet doesn’t kill my hair. goodDYEyoung is inarguably the best semi-permanent hair dye that I’ve ever used. It’s so easy to mix colors to create your own unique shades, has incredible longevity (especially Steal My Sunshine!), and the hair dye in itself is a treatment for hair with sunflower oil and bergamot. goodDYEyoung is vegan, cruelty free and smells like Fruity Pebbles straight from the tube.
