On November 10, Metallica will reissue 1986’s seminal Master Of Puppets via its Blackened label. The album will be available as a standard CD or LP, three-CD expanded edition (with unreleased demos, rough mixes, interviews, live tracks and a 28-page booklet) and a limited-edition boxed set (with three LPs, 10 CDs, a cassette, two DVDs, a lithograph, a folder with handwritten lyrics, six buttons and a 108-page hardcover book). Welcome home, indeed … Grandaddy‘s classic Under The Western Freeway celebrates its 20th anniversary on October 20 with a special-edition vinyl reissue courtesy of Friendship Fever featuring the original album on one LP and eight unreleased tracks and demos on another; the first 250 orders will also get Practice 97, a bonus cassette featuring eight unreleased band-practice recordings) … October 20 also marks the second set of reissues in Pet Shop BoysCatalogue 1985-2012 reissues series of the band’s Parlophone studio albums via Rhino; 2009’s Yes and 2012’s Elysium both contain bonus tracks, demos and remixes by PSB themselves … Drivin’ N’ Cryin’s third album, the out-of-print Mystery Road, gets expanded-edition treatment on October 6 from Island/UMe, featuring unreleased demos produced by R.E.M.’s Peter Buck … Mute is giving A Certain Ratio the reissue treatment starting November 24 with 1979’s The Graveyard And The Ballroom, 1981’s To Each and 1986’s Force, with a compilation to come in April, then more releases and a boxed set … On November 17, Fujiya & Miyagi will release a 10th-anniversary reissue of Transparent Things with a bonus disc containing a 43-minute mix called “Different Blades From The Same Pair Of Scissors” … To celebrate the 40th anniversary of the band’s debut album, The Second Annual Report, Mute is starting a Throbbing Gristle reissue series, kicking off November 3 with, naturally, The Second Annual Report as well as 1979’s 20 Jazz Funk Greats, both of which are double CDs; the same day will also see the release of an updated version of 2004’s The Taste Of TG: A Beginner’s Guide To Throbbing Gristle … 1993’s Individual Thought Patterns, the fifth album by Death, is being reissued on vinyl on October 20 by Relapse as single LP and a limited-edition two-LP boxed set featuring live and studio bonus material … On November 10, Mercury/UMe will issue a 20th-anniversary edition of Roni Size & Reprazent‘s Mercury Music Prize-winning New Forms, with a remaster of the original LP, a live-hardware mix and more … George Michael’s second solo album, 1990’s Listen Without Prejudice Vol 1/MTV Unplugged, will be reissued October 20 via Sony as a two-CD edition and a deluxe boxed set … The Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, a half century old this year, is the subject of a two-disc collection fittingly titled Anthology; out September 29 via Capitol Nashville/UMe, the 39-track, two-disc set features hits, deep cuts and fan favorites … Soulsville U.S.A.: A Celebration Of Stax celebrates the 60th anniversary of the legendary label with 60 tracks from the early ’60s to the mid-’70s by the likes of Otis Redding, Isaac Hayes, the Staple Singers, Booker T. & the MG’s, Sam & Dave and many more; the three-CD set is out September 22 via Rhino/Concord … Michael Jackson Scream, out September 29 on Epic/Legacy, collects 13 of Michael Jackson‘s dance-floor-approved tracks, including “Thriller,” “Dirty Diana” and “Ghosts” as well as a five-song mashup by remixer the White Panda … Veteran French avant-garde ensemble Art Zoyd gets the boxed-set treatment on October 27 via Cuneiform with the 12-CD/two-DVD 44 1/2 (that’s how many years the band has been around), which contains hours of live and unreleased material … When Patsy Cline Was… Crazy is a DVD out October 6 on UMe that compiles PBS documentary Patsy Cline: American Masters and bonus material including interview footage, live performances and more celebrating Patsy Cline, who would’ve turned 85 this year … Day Of The Gusano is a live Slipnot set from December 2015 directed by band co-founder M. Shawn Crahan out October 20 via Eagle Rock; it’s available on DVD/CD and Blu-ray/CD as well as vinyl/DVD and CD/double-DVD packages … Out now is Tribute To Les Paul: Live From Universal Studios Hollywood (MVD), featuring the likes of Slash, Edgar Winter, Joe Perry, Buddy Guy, Steve Lukather, Joe Satriani, Kenny Wayne Shepherd, Neal Schon and more paying tribute to the great Les Paul.
