Not only is J.Views‘ latest 401 Days an album that was created interactively with fan participation, it also earned the producer/remixer/songwriter (born Jonathan Dagan) his second Grammy nomination (for art direction). The Brooklyn-based Dagan is a creative force both in the studio (in addition to his own original work, he’s remixed the likes of Dido, Moby, Depeche Mode and Kings Of Leon) and as a multimedia visual artist (aside from his Grammy noms, he’s also won numerous graphic-design awards), and he brings this same forward-looking sensibility to his live shows, which are always evolving visually as well as musically with the supporting cast he surrounds himself with. We are premiering a live video today on magnetmagazine.com for 401 Days track “Don’t Pull Away.” In typical J.Views fashion, however, this version of the song is different from the one featuring Milosh (of Rhye) found on the record. Says Dagan of this live performance, “Here, Denitia took the lead and gave the song her own type of softness, which I love to death … This recording is taken from a show I did with the Revolution Orchestra at the Opera Hall of Tel-Aviv. They gave the songs such beautiful renditions.” If you don’t believe him, you’ll see for yourself when you check out the clip below. If you like it (and we think you will), go see J.Views live in November. Tour dates and ticket info after the jump.
