Our pal Marina Chavez just pointed out that The Hot Rock by Sleater-Kinney came out 19 years ago today. (She took the album’s great, already-iconic—and already-“covered”—cover photo.) You’ve probably seen the above photo from High Fidelity before, but if you look closely, the issue of MAGNET that John Cusack is reading has Sleater-Kinney on the cover (the first of three times the band has graced our cover—all sold out, by the way); they were supporting the just-released The Hot Rock. Time flies when you’re making (and reading) music magazines.
