Zach Condon’s Beirut Brings Its Multiculti Indie Folk To Philadelphia

We’ve been covering Beirut in MAGNET for so long that even frontman┬áZach Condon was wearing short pants when we started. The then 20-year-old songwriter/multi-instrumentalist had just released 2006 debut Gulag Orkestar, and he’s since developed into one of indie folk’s singular talents. Supporting the excellent new Gallipoli (4AD), Beirut brought its musical caravan to Philly’s Tower Theater. MAGNET photographer Chris Sikich enjoyed the ride.
