There’s nothing childish about And The Kids, either on superb new album When This Life Is Over (Signature Sounds) or in a live setting. The Northampton, Mass.-based duo of Hannah Mohan (vocals and guitar) and Rebecca Lasaponaro (drums and vocals) brought its brand of self-assured indie rock to Philly’s Johnny Brenda’s and held the audience under its spell with a tight, 11-song set. The crowd got its money’s worth with killer sets from openers Ellen Siberian Tiger (playing a hometown show) and Bat House (like the headliners, also from the Bay State). MAGNET photographer Chris Sikich was there and happy to be alive.
