There are a few things you need to know about Arthur Brown. He’s The God Of Hell Fire. His influence can be felt on everyone from Alice Cooper and David Bowie to Peter Gabriel and Kiss to Marilyn Manson and Iron Maiden. His world is crazy, which is why the band he started in the U.K. more than half a century ago is called the Crazy World Of Arthur Brown. And he’s still crazy after all these years, releasing records and playing shows. MAGNET photographer Wes Orshoski caught up with Brown at his group’s gig at NYC’s (Le) Poisson Rouge and was lucky enough to shoot him backstage while he got his game face on.
