Live Review: Aldous Harding, Tiny Ruins, Philadelphia, Oct. 2, 2019

With a voice that evokes Nico and dance moves that are all her own, New Zealand’s Aldous Harding is an alchemist, turning an unlikely mix of freak folk and soft rock into something at once becalming and unsettling, kinetic and serene.

Tiny Ruins—or, more accurately, Tiny Ruins frontwoman Hollie Fullbrook—opened the show at Underground Arts with pretty, stripped-down folk untethered to time.
