20 years ago today, David Gray’s White Ladder became the first release on Dave Matthews’ ATO label. The LP had been out on Gray’s IHT label for more than a year, achieving minor success, but the ATO reissue led to it selling millions of records, a Grammy nomination and, on the negative side, the later world domination of Ed Sheeran.
