We’re proud the Districts hail from our hometown of Philadelphia. While the Rob Grote-led foursome spent its first three albums refining and defining its indie-rock sound, the new You Know I’m Not Going Anywhere (Fat Possum) shows a band looking to branch out, try news things and, well, go somewhere different. A lesser outfit might’ve lost its identity while doing so, but Grote and Co. have managed to hold on to what’s made the band so reliable while breaking new sonic ground. We’re already anxious to hear what flourishes and spoils come next.
