The multi-instrumentalist frontman of Winnipeg’s Figure Walking has been releasing records for almost a quarter century and has been longlisted for the Polaris Music Prize multiple times. Vertical/Horizontal is the sophomore album from Figure Walking—which also includes drummer Rob Gardiner (Conduct, Pip Skid)—and like its predecessor, 2017’s The Big Other, it was released on MacPherson’s Disintegration label.
