For the Cribs, social distancing came easy. The band of brothers—Jarman twins Gary (bass, vocals) and Ryan (guitar, vocals) and baby bro Ross (drums)—was already spread out across 5,000 miles and two continents. After dealing with some fallout from splitting with its management and the recording/releasing moratorium that resulted, the Jarmans regrouped, wrote some songs and then recorded and self-produced them at Foo Fighters’ L.A. studio. The result is Night Network (Sonic Blew/PIAS), the Cribs’ eighth album and also the best LP of their 20-year career. Meet the new fellas, same as the old fellas.
