Every week, we’ll be posting a new illustration by David Lester. The Mecca Normal guitarist is visually documenting people, places and events from his band’s 37-year run, with text by vocalist Jean Smith.
This person looks like they aren’t particularly happy, but maybe they didn’t generate the caption. That telltale shroud of orangey-pink enthusiasm makes me wonder if their expression is meant to keep people away while they allow thoughts and emotions to collide between the road and the show.
