Idles Wild: Britain’s Most Incendiary Live Band Kicks Philly In The Mouth—With Kindness

If you missed Idles on its recent tour in support of the excellent new Crawler (Partisan), there are still tickets left to see the British quintet opening for the Strokes at the Barclays Center on New Year’s Eve. Joe Talbot and the boys played the Fillmore in Philly, delivering a blistering set that culminated with “Rottweiler,” the closing track from 2018 breakout album Joy As An Act Of Resistance. Show opener Gustaf joined Idles on the song, which followed the Brooklyn art-punk band’s own searing set, featuring almost of the tracks from impressive debut LP Audio Drag For Ego Slobs (Royal Mountain). MAGNET photographer Chris Sikich’s ears are still ringing.
