In the ‘80s and ‘90s, we toured with likeminded, minimalist musicians, primarily as the anti-authoritarian Black Wedge. We toured in the U.K., down the West Coast to L.A., Vancouver to Montreal and the northeastern U.S. We presented some interesting poetry and music events, but I would never again tour with people I hadn’t met—or even spoken to—before. Please laugh. Now that I’m 62, it seems absurd to hit the road and put on shows night after night with total strangers.
