Unless you live underneath the suburbs or in the middle of an ocean of noise, you’re well aware that Arcade Fire is gonna release a record in the month of May. Win Butler, Régine Chassagne and Co. debuted a few of the songs from We (out May 6) at four shows at the Bowery Ballroom. The surprise pay-what-you-want residency benefited the PLUS1 Ukraine Relief Fund and featured guests including Mike Myers and David Byrne, but not multi-instrumentalist (and Win’s younger brother) Will Butler, who left Arcade Fire after the completion of We. MAGNET photographer (and modern man) Wes Orshoski was there with flashbulb eyes for night two.
