Resistance Revival Chorus commanded the stage at World Cafe Live with a full complement of sorrow, joy, defiance and hope—and got the whole audience to rise up in one voice.
Highlights included Abby Dobson’s virtuosic spotlight “Say Her Name”; the complex tapestry of vocals on “Rich Man’s House,” “Ella’s Song” and “Woke Up This Morning With My Mind Stayed On Freedom” led by ArinMaya and Jessi Olsen; and the pairing of Ilya Kaminsky’s poem “We Lived Happily During The War,” read by Ali Fenwick, with Moist Paula’s instrumental saxophone version of Ukraine’s national anthem.
