When this song was written back in the 1990s, there were far fewer ways to gather and assess information on the subject of oppression, for instance. From my Canadian perspective, it seemed like people in the USA might not know about the universal health care system that we benefited from. Now, so many year later, I’m sure Americans are aware of universal health care, but have yet to implement it.
