60 years ago today, the Rolling Stones—then known as the Rollin’ Stones, featuring vocalist Mick Jagger, guitarists Brian Jones and Keith Richards, bassist Dick Taylor (future Pretty Thing), either drummer Tony Chapman or Mick Avory (future Kink) and pianist Ian Stewart (removed from the lineup the next year, though he still contributed to the Stones until his death in 1985)—made their live debut at London’s Marquee Jazz Club.
