There is a certain amount of looking into the future from this late-’80s song about what could now be called conspiracy theories and how, as conditions on the planet worsened, humans refused to deal with reality.
The woman banging the pot could refer to the daily serenading of healthcare workers early in the ongoing pandemic, but she looks to be from a previous era, possibly the ’60s or ’70s. Something about her clothes and hairstyle. I wonder what she was signaling and what other methods of communication she felt she had access to..
