Every week, we’ll be posting a new illustration by David Lester. The Mecca Normal guitarist is visually documenting people, places and events from his band’s 41-year run, with text by vocalist Jean Smith.
Even though our second album, Calico Kills The Cat, was released in 1989, it feels like more of a ’90s album than an ’80s album. I think there’s an opportunity to somehow connect the ideas brewing on Calico with what happened next and, really, up to current times. I’ll be working on that as the release schedule unfurls.
