MAGNET Exclusive: Premiere Of Adam Chaffins’ “Living Till My Dying Day”

Where Adam Chaffins’ 2020 debut album, Some Things Won’t Last, focused on the ephemeral, his upcoming EP reflects the quest for some sort of permanence. “From a double-wide kid in Appalachia to stages all across the world and the studios of Nashville, I tried to paint with colors from all my influences on this project, creating my version of country music,” says the Kentucky native.

As the bassist for rough-and-tumble bluegrass band Town Mountain, Chaffins shared the stage with the likes of Billy Strings and Lee Ann Womack. He also worked with the Grammy-winning Infamous Stringdusters and performed multiple times on the Grand Ole Opry. Since settling in Nashville, Chaffins has devoted the past five years to moving more fully into the spotlight as a singer/songwriter. He now has the help of legendary Nashville producer and music publisher Frank Rogers (Chris Stapleton, Brad Paisley), who co-helmed the sessions for the Trailor Trash EP, which is set for release May 16 via Spirit Nashville/Fluid Music Revolution.

Chaffins wrote “Living ’Til My Dying Day” with proven Music Row songwriter Bryan Simpson. “The references to my upbringing and experiences during years road-doggin’ in music became the muse,” says Chaffins. “Several months after we finished it, I found myself at Spirit Music, sitting on a piano bench with my guitar, playing the song for Frank and crew. Somehow, my willingness to confront the things I felt were holding me back led to a publishing and recording deal and the opportunity to work with Frank in the studio.”

We’re proud to premier Adam Chaffins’ “Living ’Til My Dying Day.”
