As a new father, Vacation Manor’s Nathan Towles finds inspiration and exasperation staring him in the face just about every hour of the day. “My wife and I had our first child almost a year ago,” he says. “‘You, In The Afternoon’ was just kind of a reminder to myself to stay present.”
Nearly 10 years after their breakthrough Spotify hit, “A Toast And A Spirit,” the Lynchburg, Virginia-based duo is set to release the Back To Town EP on May 16 via Nettwerk. Self-produced by Towles and drummer Cole Young over 24 months, its half-dozen tracks paint a literate, intimate real-life portrait of 21st-century domestic bliss. “You, In The Afternoon,” the EP’s third single, is in keeping the glass-half-full vibe.
“In a way, we write songs to deal with negative emotions and hopefully make something good out of them,” says Towles.
We’re proud to premiere Vacation Manor’s “You, In The Afternoon.”
