MAGNET Exclusive: Premiere Of Larry Peace-Love Yes’ “Everyone On This Planet Is Family (Free)”

For Portland, Ore., multidisciplinary artist Larry Peace-Love Yes, the message behind his latest single couldn’t be more obvious.

“This song is a call to the universal truth that everyone on this planet is connected and a call to celebrate our differences as strengths,” he says. “We’re all unique and beautiful just the way we are.”

“Everyone On This Planet Is Family (Free)” is the title track to an unwaveringly positive new album that celebrates all the above in a way that could be either refreshing or off-putting, depending on your mindset. The music itself is a restrained and tuneful convergence of folk and rock with some orchestral shadings; think cellos, gentle guitars and tasteful brass. A well-known enigma around Rose City, Yes was able to wrangle contributions from Nate Query (Decemberists), Toussaint Perrault (Tu Fawning), Thomas Deakin (Bonnie Prince Billy), Courtney Von Drehle (3 Leg Torso), Nate Lumbard (Michael Hurley) and others.

Everyone On This Planet Is Family is out next month on Portland’s vinyl-centric Nadine label, and Yes will mark the occasion with a series of release parties. Art from the album will be showcased, along with videos for all eight songs and a “subversive sound bath” experience.

“I believe we should feel free to look how we came through, love who we want to and be who we are true,” says Yes. “Everyone and everything are connected. Love each other, love yourself, love your other, love each self.”

We’re proud to premier Yes’ “Everyone On The Planet Is Family” video.
