Every week, we’ll be posting a new illustration by David Lester. The Mecca Normal guitarist is visually documenting people, places and events from his band’s 42-year run, with text by vocalist Jean Smith.
David’s illustration hints at his other projects, which typically involve cautionary tales that relate to abuses of power similar to what we’re currently witnessing. Much of Mecca Normal’s lyrical output can be regarded as open to interpretation, but I’m noticing how various songs hit differently against this new backdrop.
