The Governors Ball 2025

This year’s Governors Ball delivered an electrifying weekend of diverse genres, uniting fans of hip hop, indie rock, pop, soul and more. Held at Flushing Meadows Corona Park in Queens, the three-day festival was packed with memorable performances, rising stars and crowd-commanding headliners.

Kicking off the weekend with unmatched Southern heat, BigXthaPlug brought booming bass and Texas swagger to the stage, igniting an early-afternoon crowd with his aggressive flow and undeniable charisma. Benson Boone followed with a heartfelt set that showcased his vocal range and acrobatic backflips.

Indie fans were treated to a double dose of charm from Wallows and the Lemon Twigs. Wallows started their set as usual and ended the last half in a rainstorm that elevated the crowd’s energy even more. The Lemon Twigs delivered a glam-rock spectacle straight from the 1970s, complete with theatrical flair and vintage harmonies.

Pop powerhouse Olivia Rodrigo proved why she’s one of the defining voices of her generation while headlining day two. Her set was both cathartic and high-energy, blending angst and empowerment across hits like “Vampire” and “Good 4 U.” Clairo delivered a beautifully introspective set, captivating the crowd with her soft vocals and minimalist arrangements

Joey Valence & Brae injected high-octane fun with their Beastie Boys-inspired rap/punk energy, bouncing across the stage with chaotic joy. Mt. Joy’s soulful Americana with jam-band sensibilities offered a calmer, rootsy counterpoint to the surrounding chaos.

Closing out the festival, Hozier—backed by a tight band and bathed in golden light—delivered a stunning and spiritual performance under a lavender sky. “Take Me To Church” echoed across the park, and it was an exclamation point on a weekend that blended style, soul and sound in perfect harmony.
