Seeing as fun is purportedly the prime motivator for Beaming, the new indie-pop venture from Derek Ted and Braden Lawrence, one has to wonder how much of it Lawrence actually had in his last job. He spent more than a decade drumming with the Districts, a band that couldn’t outlast some legitimate hype once it relocated from Amish Country to Philadelphia. Moving to Los Angeles for a fresh start, Lawrence locked in with Ted, a singer, songwriter and producer who’s worked with Odie Leigh, Runnner, Field Medic and others.
Following closely on the heels of a 2025 EP, Beaming is readying its debut LP, Horseshoe (Rose Garden), for April 17 release. And the vibrant “Stuck (Here)” sure sounds like it was fun to make.
“An emo front-porch banger, it’s a song about the weight of dealing with unhealthy relationships and how hard it is to get out of your own way,” says Ted. “There’s something special that happens when a room full of people all make something—the right people.”
We’re proud to premiere Beaming’s “Stuck (Here).”
