Live Review: Greta Van Fleet, New York City, May 27, 2026

Greta Van Fleet ended its nearly two-year live hiatus with a sold-out performance at the 575-capacity Bowery Ballroom. Tickets for the show (just $20!) could only be purchased in person at the box office. As more bigger bands have started doing these smaller-venue, highly sought-after shows, dedicated fans camping out overnight has become the norm once again.

This one-night-only GVF performance featured a 12-song setlist ranging from fan favorites like “Highway Tune” (the opener) to new single “Play Your Games” (the closer). The Bowery, packed from the general-admission floor to the upper balcony, had fans dancing and singing along, leaving no doubt they were ecstatic to be part of this close-knit concert experience.

With the release of “Play Your Games” and this pop-up-style performance, fans have begun to speculate about what an upcoming GVF tour might look like. Will the band continue playing intimate shows in select cities or return to larger arenas? Or is this farewell for now? Regardless, gathered at the Bowery tonight, Greta Van Fleet did it up just right.
