Jangly ’60s pop that almost makes us remember summer and a time before snowdrifts, “Tribe” sounds like the Byrds decided to modernize their sound by, oh, about five years or so. That’s not to say that the Young Sinclairs, a Virginia “conglomerate,” are old-fashioned, per se. It’s more that they know a good genre when they hear it, and classic folk/rock is about as good as they get. With Songs Of The Young Sinclairs, an anthology of cuts from their six self-released records (available via Kindercore on March 30), all we can say is that the future is clearly overrated. As a bonus, here are mp3s of “Engineer Man” and “Cancelled Flight.”
