We were very sad to hear that original Kinks bassist Pete Quaife passed away on Thursday. They were the last of the British Invasion bands with all of its founding members still alive, which always made us think that they just might get back together for one more tour. Here’s a clip of Ray Davies at this weekend’s Glastonbury festival playing two of our all-time favorite songs: “Waterloo Sunset” and “Days.” Davies dedicated them to Quaife and the Kinks. Read our 2009 Q&A with Davies, as well as our 2008 cover story on him, with the interview conducted by Yo La Tengo’s Ira Kaplan.
